Course Description

The Professional Certificate in AI Governance and Compliance is a comprehensive program designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI) systems, ensuring they are trustworthy, ethical, and compliant with legal standards.

The program is structured into three modules:

(1) Demystifying AI and genAI and Building Trustworthy Systems, which introduces participants to the fundamentals of AI, the importance of a well-defined AI strategy, and the principles of trustworthy systems such as transparency, accountability, reliability, fairness, safety, and privacy;

(2) AI Governance Frameworks, which examines various AI governance frameworks like the OECD Principles on AI and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and teaches participants how to develop and implement an AI governance framework tailored to an organization's needs; and

(3) Legal and Ethical Considerations, which focuses on the ethical and legal aspects of AI, exploring strategies for addressing bias and discrimination, and examining legal frameworks governing AI.

Throughout the program, participants engage in discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, culminating in a capstone project that demonstrates their ability to develop and govern an AI project that is ethical, legally compliant, and aligned with best practices in AI governance.
