Course Description

Grounded in the project management lifecycle, this course is designed to teach project managers to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation as they work to meet the needs of demanding sponsors and clients in an ever-changing business environment. The highlight of this course is a live simulation that places students in a challenging environment that calls for rapid and effective innovation in the results we get for sponsors and clients today. During the simulation, students will address topics such as learning from past project successes, applying proven results to current projects, how to ask questions that disrupt normal management patterns, and how to address provocative possibilities.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, a successful student will be able to:

  • Understand ways collaboration and innovation encourages growth within an industry
  • Identify where collaboration and innovation is key within the project management lifecycle
  • Apply innovation techniques to actual project work

Notes

This course is an open enrollment course. No application is required and registration is available by clicking "Add to Cart." Current students must register with their Georgetown NetID and password. New students will be prompted to create an account prior to registration.

Course Prerequisites

Project Management Fundamentals (XCPD-480) or permission of the instructor.
