Course Description

It is a challenging time to be a leader in the public sector. Public confidence and employee morale ebb and flow while public servants are expected to deliver more with fewer resources and staff.

This one-day workshop recognizes the predicament of public servants, and offers a day to regroup and re-center around an empowering mindset, model, and set of tools to guide leaders in some of the most challenging years of our democracy.

Designed For

Mid-level and senior managers in leadership positions or preparing for a leadership position.

Course Objectives

During this course, students will:

  • Explore the essential roles of public service in democratic society
  • Learn and experiment with several powerful mental models (e.g. Cura Personalis) and tools to sharpen leadership acumen, group intelligence, resilience and sustainability
  • Imagine, envision, and strengthen relationships based on dignity, reciprocity, mutual respect, and mutual accountability
  • Recognize from personal experience the ways leaders awaken the minds and interests of others and how those same capacities can be silenced or muted
