Course Description

In an "attention-deficit" economy, visual storytelling is a powerful medium to inspire, educate, and/or entertain hearts and minds. Today, the tools, techniques, and channels to create and distribute powerful visual stories are accessible, affordable, and available for those with story-telling acumen.

Video Storytelling is a 12-hour course that provides media professionals (or those with a strong interest in media) with the chance to expand their narrative, production, and editing skills to excel in today's 21st-century media environment needs. In newsrooms and media outlets around the globe, there is an emphasis on sharing news through visual means. The objective of this course is to provide media professionals, from journalists to online specialists, with skills to write, produce, edit, and package content quickly, effectively, and professionally.

Students will complete the course with a finished video package to compliment a professional portfolio and will gain a concrete understanding of Final Cut Pro.
