Course Description

The Critical College Writing course is a core course associated with the Georgetown University College Immersion Program serving students of the Cristo Rey Network and the KIPP Foundation. It is designed to prepare students for successful college writing. Students are assigned a text prior to the course and asked to develop and use critical thinking skills and engage in associated college writing assignments. Students will have homework each night of the course and can expect to write and respond to blog posts, write short answer or short essays on the night's topic, and complete a final essay due at the conclusion of the weeklong course.

The course was developed and is supervised by Norma Tilden, Professor within the English Department at the Georgetown College. Three English Instructors will teach the individual course sections. They are all graduate students at Georgetown University.
