Course Description

The Foundations of Biology course is core to the Georgetown University College Immersion Program. It is a course designed to expose students to Freshman biology labs and lectures. Each day students will be hands-on in the lab building from single cell biology up to complex systems such as the brain, the heart, and lungs. Students should expect homework each night to prepare for the next days lab assignment.

The Foundations of Biology course makes strong use of Georgetown University's new science center and medical center. It is conducted by university professors Dr. Heidi Elmendorf and Dr. Maria Donoghue with the assistance of student lab aids.
