Course Description

In this session, participants deepen their ability to see polarities at both the personal and interpersonal level. Leaders, coaches, and practitioners learn how polarities can be used to strengthen relationships by better understanding and appreciating the differences (and sameness) of others. The course explores practical ways to leverage resistance as a springboard for change and examines the common polarities leaders must navigate in order to maximize their effectiveness with teams and organizations. Tools and techniques are shared to expand capacity to use polarities in intrapersonal and interpersonal transformation. Participants will use paradox to tackle questions such as: What are my preferences and blind spots, and how do they impact my effectiveness? How do I help myself and others get unstuck? Where is the wisdom in resistance to change and how can it be used as a resource?

Case studies, activities, self-assessments, and reflection will help participants dive into the practical application of polarities as a resource for transformation and continuity. Instructors will share relevant facilitation and coaching techniques for using polarities with individuals and teams.
