Course Description

Designed for professional diplomats in Panama’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Certificate in International Diplomacy uses both theory and practice to provide participants with a deeper understanding of international diplomatic relations. While the program takes an interdisciplinary approach to address broad issues ranging from security to economics, it also focuses on the key issues of a specific geographical area. The course of study includes classroom lectures in Panama City that are supplemented by online discussion. Participants also take part in study visits and simulations in Washington, D.C. so that they learn from both a faculty of academics and leading experts working in international organizations and research centers.
