Course Description

The Managing for Inclusion: Leveraging Diversity in the Workplace program provides participants with a systems approach to understanding the field of Diversity& Inclusion (D&I). Participants will look at how differences at the individual, group, and system level can be leveraged to the organization’s benefit. The program is meant to provide a broad overview of D&I as well as help participants apply theory and D&I principles to practice.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the foundational underpinnings of the field of D&I management (i.e. social identity theory, implicit bias, micro aggressions, intent versus impact, power and privilege, inclusion theory, etc.)
  • Evaluate the ways in which Change Management and D&I theory intersect
  • Understand resistance in D&I initiatives
  • Identify the ways in which “conscious use-of-self” supports D&I work
  • Track behavior at the different levels of system using a diversity lens
