Georgetown’s Certificate in Online Instructional Design  introduces you to the fundamentals of creating online learning experiences that integrate social impact concepts to inform and activate students, employees, and clients to serve as agents of social change in work and the world. Throughout your studies, you will focus on designing, developing, and evaluating online learning experiences to achieve learning goals and cultivating skills and competencies in social impact design to create courses that engage learners in projects related to addressing pressing social challenges.

Through real-world practice of leading the design, development, and review of an online course, you will gain a deeper understanding of instructional design concepts and how to apply them using a social impact design framework. After earning the Certificate, you will be invited to join Georgetown’s Community of Practice in Instructional Design to help mission-driven organizations, throughout the world, with limited resources, create quality online learning experiences.

Prerequisites


Registrants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher. Those without a bachelor's degree may request consideration for admission by submitting a Statement of Purpose for review.
