Course Description

The Master Practitioner of Technology-Enhanced Facilitation is an intensive 4-week program designed for experienced professionals to master the strategic integration of advanced technologies within collaborative environments. As the professional landscape shifts toward hybrid and AI-augmented models, this certificate addresses the critical need for advanced facilitation skills that go beyond traditional group dynamics.

The curriculum focuses on the synergy between human expertise and technological power, specifically leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI to elevate meeting design and real-time execution. Participants will develop a comprehensive toolkit using industry-standard platforms like Microsoft Copilot, Google Workspace (Gemini), and ChatGPT to drive innovation, inclusive engagement, and data-driven outcomes.


 

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Create original, technology-rich facilitation designs that strategically integrate GenAI and Agentic AI into all phases of group interaction.
  • Evaluate the ethical implications of AI in professional settings to ensure responsible, fair, and human-centered application.
  • Analyze data-driven insights from technology-enhanced sessions to measure impact and continuously improve organizational outcomes.
  • Apply advanced prompt engineering and agentic workflows to automate tasks like note-taking, sentiment analysis, and agenda creation.
  • Understand the paradigm shift from purely human-mediated to human-AI augmented facilitation within virtual and hybrid contexts.

Self-directed Learning Plus (SDL+) courses are learning experiences designed by Georgetown University instructional designers to maximize flexibility for your weekly learning schedule, while also providing opportunities for real-time virtual engagement and networking with our faculty and other professional learners. 

There is a required Zoom class session each week. Professional learners must plan to attend all required Zoom class sessions to earn the certificate. Those who cannot attend a class session should contact the instructor in advance of the start of the class to determine if there is an opportunity to earn credit for the missed required class session. Make-up opportunities may not be available and vary between classes. Students are expected to have their webcams on with a working microphone. All assignments are due by the specified deadlines.Each course module will have assignment and assessment deadlines to support students in progressing in a timely manner to the successful completion of the certificate.

Required virtual Zoom class sessions will be held on each Saturday from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
