XCPD-740 - 10-Hour Mentor Coach CPL
Course Description
This curriculum prepares Georgetown ITL Leadership Coaching faculty who already serve as mentor coaches to qualify
for the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization at the PCC level (MCS-PCC) via the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) pathway. It
assumes participants are seasoned mentor coaches with documented prior practice; the program does not start from
zero. Instead, it makes implicit expertise explicit, calibrates it against the 2024 ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies, and
produces the documentation Georgetown needs to issue the attestation letter ICF requires for the CPL path.
Ten contact hours is a tight budget. Every module earns its place by directly mapping to one or more of the six ICF
Mentor Coaching Competencies, and every module produces something a mentor coach can use the following week with
a real student.
Who this is for
• Active Georgetown ITL faculty who have mentored five or more students in the past three years.
• Faculty holding an active PCC or MCC credential in good standing.
• Faculty who will continue serving as mentor coaches in the Leadership Coaching certificate program past April 1,
2027.
Course Objectives
Every competency receives explicit instructional time. The two competencies with the most professional risk for mentorcoaches — Conducts Formative Appraisals and Facilitates Client’s Skill Development — receive the most attention, by
design.
