Course Description

Today's complex and ever-changing environment requires more of our leaders than ever before. What defines leadership isn’t just our ideas or words, it’s our actions and how people assess our presence as we move through the world, have leadership conversations and take leadership actions.

We experience leaders as self-masterful when they skillfully and consistently demonstrate emotional intelligence, continuous learning, and embodied presence. As leaders we must be able to direct our emotional responses toward positive outcomes, seek and apply feedback and cutting edge skills for ourselves and our projects, and recenter and realign ourselves with our values and goals in times of stress and conflict. We more easily and effectively mobilize others; we walk our talk and inspire followers through our integrity, dignity and ability to make connections with them and the future or outcomes we seek.

These qualities also increase our capacity to think more clearly and take more effective action. We coordinate our bodies, thoughts and actions to create and translate a vision into powerful reality.
