XCPD-042 - Flow of Coaching
Course Description
This course integrates what the student has learned from classes 1 and 2. It is the preparation class for working with pro-bono classes and focused on student practice of contracting with an individual client, the flow of a coaching engagement and the demonstration of ICF core competencies. The third day of this class concentrates on faculty observation and feedback on student’s practicing the skills of coaching.

- Participate in an exercise to identify the key competency of establishing a
coaching agreement - Practice coaching and receive feedback from their peers and faculty
- Participate in group discussion of demonstration of coaching competencies
- Practice the ability to demonstrate the core competencies.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Participate in an exercise to demonstrate the key competency of establishing a
coaching agreement - Practice coaching and receive feedback from their peers and faculty
- Participate in group discussion of demonstration of coaching competencies
- Practice the ability to demonstrate the core competencies
- Describe the framework and flow of a coaching engagement
- Describe the roles of coach and client in the flow of coaching (beginning middle and end)
- Explain the value and work of coaching in the emotional domain
Notes
Enrollment in this course is restricted. Students must submit an application and be accepted into the Certificate in Leadership Coaching in order to register.
Current Georgetown students must create an application using their Georgetown NetID and password. New students will be prompted to create an account.
