XCOA-900 - Being a Facilitator
Course Description
Facilitation is about helping people or processes to move forward. How can one be an authentic and catalytic guide through such a journey understanding how movement happens?
Excellence in facilitation requires awareness and an understanding of one’s self in order to accurately grasp how your facilitation affects others. This foundational course will offer practical and theoretical approaches to understanding one’s self as a facilitator. Participants will answer questions such as: what is the intention and purpose that you bring to facilitation work? What drives your desire to facilitate? This module, like the rest, will integrate a practicum experience to apply the learning to a real experience. Participants will come away with an understanding of facilitation as a specific conversation-based offer in service to others and an overview of the core competencies of facilitation. They will learn the language of facilitation and begin to develop their own identity as a facilitator.
