Course Description

Organizations commonly express the desire to operate more entrepreneurially, and that requires a culture change that must begin at the individual leader level. This course help leaders step into an entrepreneurial mindset, to think differently, to bring greater imagination and action orientation to the opportunities facing their organizations. The program is based on the core entrepreneurial premise that the world is not out there waiting to be predicted, but is ours to create. Through an effectual approach, leaders create flexible goals, and mobilize without full clarity of the path or the end state. Utilizing who they are, what they know, and who they know, the effectual method emboldens leaders to stay agile, allowing that forces along the way will shape the eventual outcome in ways that could never have been conceived at the outset.

Tapping cutting-edge research, the instructors' effectual leadership model, and deep experience with the characteristics that distinguish successful entrepreneurs, the course teaches students the unique problem-solving principles that create entrepreneurial leadership. We utilize several modalities including our proprietary case studies, videos, and in-class work with real-life issues to help students gain comfort in applying this new approach to any range of situations.
