Course Description
At the root of a successful, high performing organization are individuals who know how to manage their employees. Although proficiency in technical skills is essential for success in the workplace, the ability to understand and manage the human side of an enterprise will be what ultimately sets a manager apart from others.This course will provide participants with the concepts and tools to help them understand and manage human capital and employees in complex organizations.
The knowledge and skills developed in this course will be critical as individuals manage direct and indirect reports as well as lead organizational change management initiatives. Specific topics include the following: motivation and leadership of employees across cultures; public policy as it relates to employment; performance appraisal; employee voice and organizational due process; employee participation and empowerment; change management; positive employee relations; creating and maintaining an ethical employee relations climate; auditing your employment practices; avoiding litigation landmines; and best human capital practices for innovation.

- Recognize, address, and correct performance appraisal issues
- Analyze dispute resolution issues that adhere to procedural justice
- Recognize how employee engagement affects and impacts organizational employee relations
