Course Description

The Executive Leadership Program in Managing for Inclusion provides executives with a systems approach to understanding the field of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) and applying DEI to their organizations. Participants will look at how differences at the individual, group, and system level can be leveraged to the organization’s benefit. The program is meant to provide a broad overview of DEI as well as help participants apply theory and DEI principles and promote a culture of inclusion across the entire organization.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • explain the foundational underpinnings of the field of diversity & inclusion management (i.e.social identity theory, implicit bias, micro aggressions, intent versus impact, power and privilege, inclusion theory, etc.);
  • evaluate the ways in which Change Management and DEI theory intersect;
  • understand resistance in DEI initiatives;
  • identify the ways in which “conscious use-of-self” supports DEI work; and
  • track behavior at the different levels of system using a diversity lens.
